Tara Palmer-Tomkinson is going under the knife to sort out her nose after years of coke snorting takes its toll.

The former it-girl and socialite claimed that while she has not taken the drug recently, earlier use has resulted in the loss of cartilage in her snout.

Although she has been open about her previous drug use, she is warning people not to think that she is visiting a surgeon due to recent drug taking.

"She is very conscious of the damage caused to her nose by drug use in the past and has considered surgery to correct the problem," said a spokesperson for the socialite.

But they added: "Any suggestion that she has taken drugs recently is totally untrue and without foundation and will be met with legal action."

She follows other famous stars, such as Daniella Westbrook, who also lost a nostril to cocaine.

Palmer-Tomkinson, 34, added: "I don't like the hole but an operation would hurt a lot."
