Dating Guide
Dating is back in fashion, but unlike an overweight pop idol winner, it looks like this one will be sticking around for a while yet.
It's becoming easier to find love through online dating sites mainly because of its popularity. The more people there are, the more choice, and the more chance of finding your ideal match. It's like going into a bar and finding 3,000 women on the dance floor, you just don't know where to start looking!
But if you're not into going out on the pull and participating in some sort of prehistoric mating ritual on the dance floor, you can put on your slippers and try and find love from the comfort of your own home.

No we're not talking about one-handed love, we're talking online dating kind of love. Although, what you do in your own time is up to you. It's perfectly natural and not something to be ashamed of.
Anyway back to dating. At this point, you should have a good idea of the type of person you'd like to meet and where you're going to look - we've been kind enough to give you some suggested links on this page…! Once you're on a site, you can search aggressively (send lots of emails), passively (wait for emails to come to you) or combine insistent and passive tactics. We'd suggest the latter form of attack.
Believe it or not, people will look at your profile too. If Sonia from Eastenders can pull, so can you. Bear in mind that if you've got nothing written down in your profile, you're going to have very little interest, as no one will know what you're like. So, if the dating site you're on offers it, you should make sure you complete as much as you can, if not everything they ask you. And don't lie, we guarantee it will come back to haunt you. If you're truthful, someone will like you for who you are and you wont have to keep on lying. But enough of that crap, let's get back to finding you some love…
The REAL Guide
If you do manage to get a date, here's our real guide to not looking like a fool and giving yourself the best chance of a good time.
Girls:
- Don't put on too much make up and/or perfume. You will leave us wondering how rough you really are without all that slap on.
- A bit of cleavage is good, and we'll never complain about a nice chest to look at, but don't show too much. When it's too revealing (if you're tits are hanging out), it's a little disconcerting sitting in a nice restaurant trying to make conversation, when all we can do is stare at your chest.
- Don't expect the man to pay for dinner. When the bill comes, get out our purse and then let him offer to pay. It's a bit awkward for him otherwise, and it's a good way showing your appreciation.
- If he is genuinely making an effort to entertain you, try not to sit there with your arms folded if you're a bit bored. You should make an effort too, and if it's still not working, then fair enough.
Boys:
- Try and do a bit of research on the girl you're meeting. For example, double-check her profile, if she likes to watch films - check out what's on in the cinema at the moment, read up on what's good and what's getting bad reviews.
- Dress for the occasion, but dress smart if you can help it. A splash of aftershave will do, but not too much, you don't want her to choke on it (the smell)...
- Don't stare at the girl's breasts for too long (unless they're REALLY good). There's nothing wrong with having a quick look at them if they're on show, but she will be probably prefer you too look at here face too.
- Try and make her laugh - not by sticking chopsticks up your nose and pretending to be a walrus, but with witty conversation. If you can make her laugh that way, you're onto a winner son.
There you have it
Online dating is definitely the new way of finding love. It's fun, exciting to meet new people and it is challenging (which is where our guide comes in) - although some people will need to work on their socialising skills. Funnily enough, "Do you want to go halves on a bastard" doesn't normally work in the dating process…
Part 2 of our dating guide is all about getting the knowledge - you'll be dating in no time…
