Online dating agencies follow much the same format. You can search for, and view, profiles and pictures of all registered members. You can then decide who you liked at the end of it and register your interest. Once you have a match, the rest is up to you.

Costs

Most online dating companies will say you can 'join for free'. Invariably this means you register at no cost, but after a short trial period you have to pay around £10-£15 per month. The other popular deal is free registration, but as soon as you have found someone that you'd like to contact, then you have to pay a subscription fee. There are a lot of slight variations on this, but essentially you pay a nominal fee once you start using their service - a small price to pay if you find love. Speed dating costs around £20-£30 per evening, but it depends on the venue and location.
