Botox for beautiful Brits

Tuesday 14th March 2006, 17:20

Vain Brits will be glad to hear that botulinum toxin type A, or Botox as it is better known, has been granted a licence for cosmetic use in the UK.

The regulatory agency MHRA has approved its use for the "temporary improvement" in the appearance of frown lines between the brows for women and men aged under 65 years of age.

Marketed as Vistabel, the product is the first of its kind to be licensed for cosmetic use in the UK, ensuring that Brits stay looking younger and 'line-free' for longer.

Dr Nick Lowe, consultant dermatologist at the Cranley Clinic in London, praised the product saying it minimised "wrinkles between the brows, achieving a naturally refreshed and relaxed upper face rejuvenation".

Lucky news for those who have give a sad, angry or tired impression due to the '11' embossed on their forehead!
